Trail Riding The Way It Was Meant To Be!

Lake Fork Ranch, nestled in the center of a remote valley in Southern Colorado is a riders' paradise! Surrounded by the 1.8 million acres of the Rio Grande National Forest, and a mile north of the South San Juan Wilderness Area, riders can venture from the ranch to all four points of the compass.

Bring your own horse for the riding vacation you've been dreaming about! You will enjoy uncrowded trails where it is common not to see another person all day! The trails around Lake Fork Ranch are a welcome relief to riders who are used to manging their horses due to the heavy use of trails around their home.

Don't want to trailer your horse to the ranch? Lake Fork Ranch provides a number of athletic horses who lend themselves to the experienced horseman who wants to avoid the 'dead nag' available at most ranches. We provide horses who lend themselves to the novices in the group as well.

From short jaunts to day long rides, secluded aspen and pine groves to sweeping timberline vistas, hidden waterfalls and ice caves, old growth forests to broad valley rides, single file trails to old logging roads where you can spread out, the wide variety of trails allow for all types and abilities of riders and horses.

Ride by yourself or with other experienced horsemen and enjoy a riding vacation the way it was meant to be! A Lake Fork Ranch wrangler can ride out with you and show you the trails, until the sense of adventure takes you off by yourself.

For those riders who bring their own horses, Lake Fork Ranch offers 10 16'x16' pens, one 12'x20' covered pen, and a 60' round pen for your warm up, or practice work. Visit our Horseback Riding FAQ page for all sorts of information to help you with your vacation!

Come experience Lake Fork Ranch and the trail riding vacation you've been searching for!
